Vizient, Inc. Announces Promotion of Dr. David Levine to Senior Vice President

IRVING, Texas--()--Vizient, Inc. today announced that Dr. David Levine has been promoted to senior vice president, Advanced Analytics and Informatics.

He has been responsible for driving a number of key initiatives for Vizient, including growing our Center for Advanced Analytics, leading the development of our risk adjustment methodologies and increasing the engagement of physicians and other clinicians with Vizient’s data products. He also has been a key voice in providing strategic direction on our data and analytics strategy,” said Bharat Sundaram, president, Analytics and Advisory Services at Vizient.

In his new role, Levine will lead his team to further develop Vizient’s Center for Advanced Analytics which is responsible for risk-adjustment and ranking methodologies as well as data governance. The Center brings together analytics from multiple clinical and operational offerings to provide insights to members across the continuum of care. The Center also supports analytics for the Vizient Research Institute as well as key performance improvement activities.

Prior to joining Vizient in 2010, Levine served as medical director of the emergency department at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, IL. While there he served as a physician leader for the health system’s implementation and upgrade of their electronic health record system. He also served as the chair of Utilization Management for the hospital and as the department representative for the Quality Assurance Committee.

Levine earned his medical degree from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine and is board certified in emergency medicine. He did his residency at Boston City Hospital where he was chief resident. Levine has a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Michigan.

Levine is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He has won numerous awards including a Peace Leader Award for individual achievement from the Illinois Center for Violence Prevention, the Weave Award from the Chicago Abused Women’s Coalition for service of domestic violence survivors, and the Best Teacher Award from the Cook County Emergency Residency program.
