Scality Growth Soars in Third Quarter with 100 Percent Year Over Year Growth Since the Beginning of the Year

Doubling Again in the Third Quarter and Adding 20 New Customers Since May, Scality is Primed to be the Next Storage Star

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Scality, world leader in object and cloud storage, continued its year over year success with 100 percent growth and new customer wins in the third quarter of 2016. This rapid increase in growth and global customers, shows the strength of Scality RING Software Defined Storage and its sustained product innovation.

“Scality is experiencing very healthy growth on all fronts: new customers, expansions across our existing customer base, new product innovation, hiring and our open source launch. We are truly having a banner year!” said Erwan Menard, President & COO of Scality. “We are innovating quickly and delivering more value to our customers, especially the Global 2000 Enterprise. The open source S3 Server, has been a huge success with more than 400 weekly downloads and 3000 downloads since June. The S3 Server allows developers to deploy an S3 compatible server and quickly develop for the S3 API.”

Scality’s engineering team has delivered the General Availability of Scality RING v6.1 in June and v6.2 in September as initially planned, followed by 6.3 this month in October. Such rapid availability of new software versions is the result of the agile methodology and the continuous delivery framework put in place by Scality Engineering teams over the last 12 months. With continuous integration and integrated design verification, customers can expect Scality to release a new quality release every 6 to 10 weeks and rapidly bring new functionality to market.

Scality continues to focus its attention on partnerships and channels for growth. In Q3, indirect sales represented a record high of 86 percent. Furthermore, Scality strengthened its relationship with Cisco, moving to Preferred Solutions Partner status and has certified additional application partners reaching a total of 45 certified applications. In September, the company launched the Scality ATLAS partner program which provides training, certification, online sales portal and support for channel partners. Scality also publicized its partnership with OVH, a leading cloud provider, which just announced that it received $250M of funding from KKR to develop its hosted private cloud strategy on a global basis.

As worldwide momentum accelerates, Scality is growing its worldwide sales presence in all regions. Recently, it expanded its European presence with a new German regional center and added Peter Kocur as General Manager of the DACH region. The German team will soon be at full strength with a team of eight people, including sales, pre-sales engineers and technical services dedicated to the DACH region.

Now in its sixth generation release, Scality RING deploys on any industry-standard x86 server, delivers the rigorous data durability, performance and 100 percent availability that businesses need for their critical data.
