LittleThings Announces A Broader Mission, A Series Of Promotions, And Significant Expansion Of Its Operations

NEW YORK--()--LittleThings has grown into the largest women’s lifestyle site by expanding upon its initial vision to bring inspiring, uplifting, and engaging content. Today, the site brings engaging, meaningful content to 55.5 million people1. LittleThings achieves the highest engagement per article on Facebook and has the second highest overall interactions with more than 26 million2.

“We credit our unprecedented growth to the relationship we have with our audience, especially our 11 million Facebook fans. It is in response to their interactions with our content that we expanded our mission to encompass engaging, meaningful content. Our audience has told us that the power of our storytelling lens, even on difficult subject matter, is important to her. We still remain committed to providing brands with a safe, positive environment and, when covering these more challenging topics, will be focused on the good that can come from them,” said Gretchen Tibbits, President & Chief Operating Officer of LittleThings.

Promotions

Tibbits has been promoted to President of LittleThings and expanded her responsibilities, which will include mentoring the over 50-person content and production team, acting as a national and international spokesperson, launching the Direct Sales strategy, leading board relations, and establishing strategic relationships with other major media companies. She has also been named for this year’s Folio 100 list. Tibbits will continue her Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer responsibilities at the company.

Chris McLoughin, who joined as SVP of Sales & Marketing in April of this year, has been promoted to Chief Revenue Officer. Since being established six months ago, our branded content sales organization has quickly achieved success. In addition to our New York-based team, we have established offices in Chicago and Los Angeles. Our team has signed on with numerous new advertisers, including Ford, Unilever, Kodak, TD Bank, Thrivent, Purina, Kimberly-Clark, Applegate, Dole, and Doctors Without Borders.

Justin Festa has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Digital. Our commitment to user experience has been a key factor in our growth and incredible engagement levels, and Festa will be assuming responsibility for the Product team. Festa will continue to oversee all of LittleThings’ programmatic advertising and header bidding initiatives, which he has received great recognition in the digital media space.

Matt Mirman, who has been part of LittleThings since it started two years ago, has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Partnerships. Mirman will continue his current responsibilities of running our syndication program, which gives social influencers, media properties, and brands the ability to bring our content to their Facebook audiences. Mirman will also be responsible for our rapidly growing video licensing division, which partners directly with other content creators — both major media brands and individuals — to share their stories with our audience.

Office Expansion

“With our team pushing past 100 people and the expansion of our in-house video, photography, and live studio productions, we needed more space. LittleThings will be moving to new offices later this month, tripling our square footage and taking over 26,000 square feet in the new Hudson Yards neighborhood,” said Joe Speiser, cofounder and CEO of LittleThings. “The new office will have one photography and three video studios, all under the leadership of Maia McCann, our Editor-in-Chief. This will ensure that we can continue our popular DIY and food content, support our growing branded content business, and expand our successful Facebook Live programming.”

Speiser added, “As I reflect on LittleThings’ second anniversary, I couldn’t be more proud of the team and our collective success. The promotions of Gretchen, Chris, Justin, and Matt reflect their commitment to this company, and the roles they have played in our growth to date. In addition, Maia McCann and our content team continue to impress me and please our audience by producing more than 1,600 pieces of content a month that receives over 275 million videos views, and also producing 10 Facebook Live broadcasts a week that frequently reach more than 200,000 viewers. We look forward to even greater growth in the future.”
