MILWAUKEE--()--Friends and family can once again look forward to experiencing an elegant traditional high tea reminiscent of the 18th century with the return of The Pfister® Hotel’s popular Afternoon Tea. A treasured memory for many, Afternoon Tea takes place Friday, Saturday & Sunday afternoons beginning October 21, 2016 through April 2, 2017.

The Afternoon Tea experience at The Pfister Hotel is unlike that of any other. Located in Blu, on the 23rd floor of the hotel, guests are welcomed by panoramic views of Milwaukee’s skyline and Lake Michigan. Guests enjoy a tableside tea blending, presented in all-silver service by a Pfister Tea Butler, paired with fresh scones, sandwiches and pastries.

“Our afternoon tea service is very special as we have our own Tea Butler who educates our guests on each tea offering and blending options as well as distinctive aromas of each variety. The Tea Butler’s personalized attention to making sure each cup of tea is brewed to the correct temperature makes for a cherished experience. As we approach the busy holiday season, we encourage all family members and friends to take a few hours out of their busy day to treat themselves to this beloved tradition,” said Tim Smith, general manager of The Pfister Hotel.

The Pfister Hotel is proud to offer a fine selection of Rishi Teas in 12 varieties, including its signature blend, Pfister 1893, exclusively crafted in 2013 in conjunction with Milwaukee-based Rishi Tea. Pfister 1893 features a blend of jasmine and wild-rose scented white teas infused with rejuvenating peppermint and calming lavender. Menus vary from traditional, sweets, vegetarian and gluten free. The high tea experience is complete with delightful music by a harpist, a cozy fireplace and fine selections of Veuve Cliquot or Veuve Cliquot Rose.

For ladies and gentlemen twelve years and younger, an “All Grown Up” menu is available featuring warm sipping chocolate, lemonade, cider, Vermont ham & cheddar finger sandwiches, herbed chicken salad tartelettes, traditional scones and mini chocolate ganache cupcakes.

Afternoon tea originated in England in the 1800s, and was often served in the drawing room between four and five o’clock. Women would wear long gowns and men their finest suits while they socialized over delicacies and delights.

People of all ages interested in experiencing The Pfister’s Afternoon Tea are invited and encouraged to reserve early for this popular series. Seatings are available at 12:30 p.m., 1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 414-935-5950 or emailing Private bookings for groups between 12-30 people are also available by contacting Kerry Doyne at 414-298-3147.

About The Pfister Hotel

The Pfister Hotel has been the premier hotel in downtown Milwaukee for over 120 years. Originally built in 1893 by businessman Guido Pfister, it was the most lavish hotel of its time. The hotel’s storied elegance had faded following World War II, until 1962, when Ben Marcus, founder of The Marcus Corporation, purchased this grand hotel out of bankruptcy. The Marcus family renovated and restored the hotel to its original glory, adding convention facilities, a parking garage and 23-story guest tower. The Pfister Hotel remains home to the largest collection of Victorian art of any hotel in the world, and recently unveiled an interactive augmented reality tour of pieces in this impressive collection.

Today the Pfister Hotel continues its tradition of gracious service and impeccable style, and has been recognized for 39 consecutive years by AAA as a Four-Diamond property. The hotel is also an ongoing member of two prestigious organizations, Historic Hotels of America and Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. The Pfister Hotel is located at 424 E. Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee. More information and updates on the hotel can be found on Facebook at and on Twitter (@PfisterHotel).
