CariClub Closes Seed Round From Prominent Investor Group

CariClub’s social platform matches young professionals with philanthropic leadership positions on nonprofit associate boards

NEW YORK--()--CariClub.com, the first technology platform designed to engage young professionals in philanthropy through associate board leadership positions at top nonprofits, closed a seed round of funding from investors Henry Kravis and Paul Raether, both of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co, L.P., Todd Dagres (Spark Capital); Ray McGuire (Citigroup); Scott Swid (SLS Capital Management); and David Schulhof (IM Global Films). The new funding will enable CariClub to build out its social network to serve more leading firms across a wide range of industries and cities.

CariClub harnesses the aspirational and inspirational desire of the millennial generation to derive value from their careers outside of a paycheck by giving back to society. Since launching in August 2015, CariClub has partnered with nearly 500 leading nonprofits and foundations. The company’s social platform is helping create the next generation of philanthropy by matching young professionals with open associate board positions at relevant organizations.

Included among CariClub’s corporate clients are KKR, Davis Polk and Berkshire Capital. Through their exclusive access to CariClub, corporate clients are able to align with their millennial workforce and subsequently attract, retain and develop their next generation of leaders. To sign up, corporations, young professionals and nonprofits can visit CariClub.com and request an invitation to the platform.

Bruce Cameron, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Capital, said of his experience with CariClub:

“CariClub is a valuable addition to our existing Corporate Social Responsibility efforts; the support from the CariClub team and the seamless nature of the platform has resulted in an elevated interest in the greater good across almost every level of our organization. With CariClub’s help, we look forward to watching our young professionals evolve into engaged Associate Board Members.”

Rhoden Monrose, CEO and Founder of CariClub, said, “Despite the rewards of challenging work and a good income, so many young people feel there's something missing in their careers. The problem is not the job. It's the lack of connection to their larger value in society. We help people find their place of value, leveraging the network and resources of their position to help others. With this additional funding, we will take a tremendous step forward towards exposing young professionals domestically and abroad to these fantastic opportunities.”
