VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SheTalks Technology returns on November 5 at TELUS Garden. 16 inspirational women from the field of technology will take the stage and share personal stories of how they made it, their contributions, struggles and successes.
The following day on November 6, the room will transform into a women-led, code-free hackathon, run by Protohack. Female mentors for design, product and business strategy will be on-hand for attendees to learn from as they develop prototypes.
“SheTalks was created to give women a platform to share their personal stories, not speeches, in just 8 minutes each,” said Natasha Raey, co-founder SheTalks.
“SheTalks Technology is a platform to help women become more comfortable with their authentic journeys through the tech industry. Women are just as big a part of innovation as men.”
SheTalks will also feature interactive science-focused displays from SFU students as well as commercial exhibitors, with plenty of opportunity for networking. Lunch is included for all attendees.
“At this event, we will also celebrate the launch of the SheTalks show on Roundhouse Radio,” said Barinder Rasode, co-founder of SheTalks. “Our first show will take place one week after SheTalks Technology, at 11:00 AM on November 12.”

SheTalks endows an open platform for women which connects and inspires them. Through the stories they share, SheTalks helps them to challenge the notion silencing their voices. The events celebrate women of all social standards, from innovative thinker in science and medicine to dynamic leaders in business and entrepreneurship to inspiring voices in communication and media to driven challengers in sports. Together, we aspire for a common goal: To be supportive and to be powerful.
ProtoHack exists to show non-coders that they can create something amazing from nothing. We empower and enable the non-technical community with the tools, knowledge and connections that will help bring their idea to life and visually communicate it through prototyping.
