SailPoint Kicks Off Navigate ’16, The Identity Governance Conference, in Europe

Berlin event concludes Navigate ’16 global series, hosting 1,200 customers, partners and prospects

AUSTIN, Texas & BERLIN--()--SailPoint, the leader in identity and access management (IAM), today kicked off the third and final Navigate ’16 conference in Berlin. Throughout the week, attendees will hear presentations that center on the theme that identity is everything. As organizations today are providing upwards of a billion points of access to employees, contractors, partners, and suppliers, they increase their risk of data breach when those billion points of access potentially become a billion points of exposure if not properly governed.

“Just last month, the Yahoo! data breach became the largest in history with over 500 million identities exposed. The common thread with that breach, and the vast majority of data breaches to date: someone did something they weren’t supposed to do and the ramifications were extensive,” said Mark McClain, CEO and co-founder of SailPoint. “Everyone in the room at Navigate Europe this week understands that identity is everything, embracing the practice of keeping identity at the center of their IT strategy. It’s a pivotal time for so many of our customers who are constantly evolving their identity management strategies given the new reality we operate in today.”

Navigate ’16 Europe keynote sessions will be led by two award-winning security experts. Graham Cluley, security blogger, inductee into the InfoSecurity Europe Hall of Fame in 2011 and well-known industry speaker and influencer, will discuss "Real Threats for Businesses Today: Mischief, Extortion and Million-Dollar Frauds." Mikko Hypponen, Chief Research Officer of F-Secure and regular industry speaker and contributor to leading global business publications, will present the “Identity of the Enemy.” Customer sessions at Navigate Europe will be led by speakers from BGZ BNP Paribas, NXP Semiconductor, Schroders, Skandia, Visa Europe, and Wuestenrot.

Nuria Barcelo Peiro, Manager Identity and Access Management and Solution Architect IAM for NXP Semiconductor will share lessons learned integrating two separate sets of IAM solutions during a company merger: “When NXP Semiconductor merged with Freescale last December, our organization inherited duplicate IAM solutions. We decided to re-evaluate our IAM strategy, ensuring a streamlined approach to IAM across the merged organization. Ultimately, we chose SailPoint’s IdentityIQ, which unified our overall IAM approach and has quickly become the foundation for our identity governance strategy going forward.”
