SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724, "Epson") announced the start of volume production of S1D13L04 display controllers for color TFT liquid crystal display panels with up to XGA resolution. The S1D13L04 is the latest addition to Epson's simple LCD controller series, and is an easy-to-use, low-cost, low-power solution that provides all essential functions of a display controller. The S1D13L04 supports panel resolutions ranging from QVGA to XGA, and is an ideal fit for industrial equipment, medical instruments, measuring equipment, office equipment, home automation systems, and other applications needing high-resolution displays.
The S1D13L04 uses external SDRAM as a display frame buffer and addresses up to a maximum of 16 megabytes. It is equipped with 16-bit parallel and serial interfaces to offer flexible interfacing with host CPU. Display functions include support for multiple windows, alpha blending, transparency, gamma correction, pseudo color expansion, mirror, and 180-degree rotation functions. Images can be displayed in the main window and in overlaid picture-in-picture windows (PIP1 and PIP2).
