SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tracy Petrillo, EdD, RD, CAE, a 15-year veteran of nonprofit management and a thought leader in the areas of education, conferences, credentialing, leadership development and member engagement, will take the reins as Chief Executive Officer of the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM), effective October 1. Following a national executive search process, Petrillo was unanimously selected by the Academy board of directors and search committee.
“The board of directors agreed that Tracy is uniquely qualified to help the Academy build a strong foundation to position us for alignment and long-term growth,” said AIHM Chair Daniel Friedland, MD, ABIHM. “We look forward to working with her and utilizing her expertise, energy and ideas.”
Dr. Petrillo is a certified association executive (CAE) who was awarded the highest national honor for staff, the 2016 Professional Performance Award, by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). Named a 2016 Changemaker by MeetingsNet, Tracy speaks nationally on learning innovations and educational technologies to nonprofit, medical, corporate and higher education audiences.
Petrillo arrives from EDUCAUSE, a nonprofit whose mission is to advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology, after serving as their Chief Learning Officer. She held leadership positions with the League of California Cities and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. During her first career as a registered dietitian, Tracy worked in clinical care and as a community wellness educator. She served as adjunct faculty at Marywood University (dietetics) and Kings College (physician assistant). She holds a master’s degree in nutrition and a doctorate in educational leadership and management with a specialization in human resource development.
