SUNNYVALE, Calif., & WILMINGTON, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Viewics, a healthcare-focused insights company that provides hospitals and health systems with laboratory-driven solutions for advanced analytics, today announced that it has signed an agreement to make its solutions available to members of the Illucient Purchasing Alliance, LLC. The Illucient Purchasing Alliance is a joint venture between Coastal Carolinas Healthcare Alliance (CCHA) and the Southern Atlantic Healthcare Alliance (SAHA) that aggregates the purchasing volumes of its members to secure more competitive contract pricing.
Illucient has chosen Viewics as its preferred healthcare analytics vendor to support its goal of enabling its members to pursue cost reduction opportunities while supporting quality. Illucient will recommend that its members consider Viewics as their analytics solutions provider over other alternatives.
The Illucient Purchasing Alliance represents more than 40 hospitals and more than 25 hospital systems in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. One member, New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC), is already implementing Viewics as a result of this partnership. The Wilmington-based network of hospitals, outpatient centers, emergency services and physicians provides services to patients throughout southeastern North Carolina. Among other key analytics initiatives, outreach management is the main reason why NHRMC purchased Viewics.
Illucient was formed in an effort to create new savings opportunities and reduce healthcare costs for hospitals within its member networks, particularly benefitting smaller, critical access hospitals that rely on the larger hospital members to achieve critical mass for volume purchasing discounts. Since its inception in 1991, the alliance has saved its member hospitals millions of dollars through strategic partnerships and group purchasing agreements. In addition to hard dollar cost savings, Illucient member hospitals benefit from peer-to-peer and virtual networking, receiving professional opportunities and support that would otherwise be difficult to come by.
