Altia Systems to Showcase Huddle Room Video Optimization with PanaCast 2 at Microsoft Ignite

New Computer Vision Algorithms in the PanaCast Video Processor Automatically Optimize Panoramic-4K Video to add Immersive “Being There” Experience to Popular Collaboration Apps like Skype, Skype For Business, Webex, Google Hangouts and Zoom

CUPERTINO, Calif.--()--Altia Systems® - a CES 2016 Innovation Awards Honoree and recipient of the 2016 Frost & Sullivan New VC Product innovation Award - today announced new functional capabilities for the PanaCast 2 camera based on new computer vision algorithms developed and implemented in the in-device PanaCast video processor. Altia Systems will demonstrate the latest features at Booth 458 at Microsoft Ignite 2016. The event will be held in Atlanta, GA this year at Georgia World Congress from September 26-30, and will host more than 25,000 senior decision makers and developers.

The field-programmable PanaCast video processor synchronizes, stitches and optimizes video from three miniaturized cameras to create an immersive 180° wide by 54° tall video stream with 3840 x 1080 pixels per frame. Aiming to transform how people see and connect virtually, Altia Systems provides a natural, human perspective to today’s collaboration services. The higher resolution, wider field of view and natural perspective give remote participants the ability to “be there from anywhere®” and truly engage in team discussions.

Since PanaCast 2 began shipping in September 2015, Altia Systems has continued to deliver technology breakthroughs in the video collaboration landscape. “With our latest computer vision algorithms, PanaCast 2 cameras dynamically auto align to the environment they are placed in within a few seconds of being turned on, to automatically deliver optimal Panoramic-4K video. The enhanced experience is seamlessly made available to popular collaboration services. The functionality simplifies huddle room design and has been delivered to customers already via a simple firmware upgrade,” explained Yash Gupta, Director of Engineering for Camera Systems Development at Altia Systems.

PanaCast usage is growing worldwide, particularly in the high-growth huddle room market. “PanaCast 2 gives every participant a virtual seat at the table, helping people communicate and collaborate more effectively. More than 450 companies and 50 universities, in 28 countries, use it every day to improve productivity in video collaboration, higher education, live streaming, broadcasting and distance learning,” said Aurangzeb Khan, President and CEO of Altia Systems.
