3dcart Shopping Cart Software Integrates with Amazon Payments

Over 285 Million Amazon Account Holders Can Now Pay with Ease on 3dcart’s Online Stores

TAMARAC, Fla.--()--Shopping cart software provider 3dcart is now part of Pay with Amazon’s new Global Partner Program, extending quick checkout integration of Amazon Payments to 3dcart stores worldwide. A simple integration gives customers at independent online stores the ability to pay using the information stored in their Amazon accounts. 3dcart customers can get started using Pay with Amazon immediately.

More than 23 million registered Amazon customers have used their accounts on non-Amazon websites. Adding Pay with Amazon to an online store extends that ability to more than 285 million Amazon customers.

To use Pay with Amazon, customers choose the products they want to buy, select “Login with Amazon” during the checkout process, and sign into their Amazon accounts to use shipping addresses and payment methods associated with their accounts. The process saves customers time spent entering addresses and payment methods and increases their trust in the purchase and the store.

This simple, secure payment option increases the likelihood customers will buy from independent stores, lending merchants the credibility of the Amazon brand while saving millions of potential customers the frustration that sometimes accompanies checking out, especially from mobile phones. A great first experience for new customers inspires them to return, make more purchases, and develop affinity with the online store.

“Every second it takes to enter a credit card number dramatically increases the chances a customer will abandon their purchase,” said 3dcart CEO Gonzalo Gil. “3dcart merchants need strong choices for combating cart abandonment. Accessing stored payment information from a trusted place online shaves off precious seconds, creating a better experience for customers and online merchants alike.”

3dcart opted for the Pay with Amazon API integrated over the Express solution, which brings Amazon widgets directly on the online store, giving merchants more control over the checkout experience, allowing to store the customer’s payment preferences to support recurring payments; and retrieving the buyer’s address during the checkout – helpful for calculating taxes and shipping costs.

Amazon Payments is one of more than a hundred payment options online merchants can add to their stores through 3dcart. Other popular payment integrations available through 3dcart include PayPal Credit, Visa Checkout, Allied Wallet, WorldPay, and more.

Note for existing Amazon Payments merchants: The new service will replace Checkout by Amazon, which will be discontinued in 2017. Amazon Payments support will be available to help 3dcart stores make the transition.
