Interactive Intelligence Opens Training Center for Anderson University Students

New center designed to recruit and train Anderson University students to more effectively prepare for IT careers in the field of software testing

INDIANAPOLIS & ANDERSON, Ind.--()--Interactive Intelligence Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ININ), a global leader of cloud services for customer engagement, communications and collaboration, has opened a technology training center in partnership with Anderson University.

The training center is located on Anderson University’s campus in Decker Hall, 1100 E. Fifth St. It was launched to provide hands-on training for paid Interactive Intelligence interns enrolled in Anderson University’s School of Science and Engineering. The program is ideal for students pursuing careers in computer science, information systems, or software engineering with a specific interest in software testing.

Interactive Intelligence and Anderson University are hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new training center on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. Eastern Time (EDT). The event is open to the general public as well as Anderson University students, alumni, faculty and staff.

“We value our longstanding history with Interactive Intelligence," said Anderson University President John Pistole. “This new training center is a natural extension of our partnership that will provide our students with great opportunities to work on projects that have significant benefit for Interactive Intelligence, business and to our students' education.”

The Anderson University intern program, open to sophomores through seniors, is offered during the summer and throughout the school year with flexible scheduling options. To apply for the program, visit www.inin.com/careers.

The new training center has VPN connectivity to the Interactive Intelligence headquarters test lab in Indianapolis. It includes features that promote a collaborative environment, including multiple computer workstations and video conferencing technology.

The Anderson University training center is the second testing lab Interactive Intelligence has opened in collaboration with an Indiana-based undergraduate school. In 2012, the company launched a training center in West Lafayette, Ind. where more than 40 Purdue University students have received real-world career development opportunities.

“The success of our Purdue University training center confirmed this model works by propelling the pace at which our interns’ careers develop,” said Jason Probala, Interactive Intelligence senior director of testing. “We’re excited to expand this program to Anderson University students by offering them the opportunity to work alongside our senior test engineers on projects that provide real business impact.”

Anderson University and Interactive Intelligence have a long history of partnership. Currently, nearly 30 Anderson University alumni are employed by the company.
