Fasten Unveils the Industry’s First Lounge for Ridesharing Drivers

Boston facility now features a space for drivers to congregate, rest between rides and get answers to questions from Fasten support staff

BOSTON--()--Fasten, the only ridesharing company that treats its drivers as customers, ensuring a great experience for riders, today announced the opening of the first lounge for ridesharing drivers. Located at 123 Beach Street, the Fasten Drivers’ Lounge has been in use since a preliminary “soft launch” earlier this month and has already earned rave reviews.

The lounge is available to drivers from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturdays. The space will also host Fasten support staff who can answer drivers’ questions in person.

"This is a truly a great opportunity for all of us now that Fasten has a dedicated space for drivers, making it easier to stop in to meet some of the other drivers or just get a quick answer to a question,” said Wirbin Vasquez, a Fasten driver from the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. “Fasten’s always been available to provide help when we need it but this lounge really takes it to another level.”

Fasten: Our Customers are our Drivers

Fasten differentiates itself from other ridesharing companies by treating its drivers as customers, not commodities. It is the only ridesharing company charging drivers a flat fee of $0.99 per ride or less—whether it’s around the block or across the state—while others typically take 20-30 percent of each fare as a commission. The Fasten Drivers’ Lounge—the first of its type in any city, for any ridesharing company—exemplifies the company’s philosophy of treating drivers better to ensure happier riders.

“We enjoy working with our drivers and want very much to make their experience--and thus, their riders’ experiences, better,” said Kirill Edvakov, CEO and co-founder of Fasten. “We believe this dedicated lounge is an important perk for them that allows them to meet other drivers and Fasten employees, relax for a bit and recharge.”

The Fasten driver signup process is simple and an application can be accessed online at http://fasten.com/d.The company currently operates its ridesharing services in Boston and Austin, Texas, among the largest markets for ridesharing in the country..

Riders can download the app to their smart device from Apple’s App Store or the Google Play Store. Drivers can download their app for Android or iOS from these links as well.
