Leading Technology Company Selects Zayo

Customer to leverage metro dark fiber

BOULDER, Colo.--()--Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ZAYO) has been selected by a leading technology company for a dark fiber network. The solution includes diverse, high fiber count paths to multiple data center locations in the Bay Area.

Zayo will supply a high count fiber network for multiple paths and meet strict requirements for diversity and latency. The solution uses fiber from the AboveNet acquisition and leverages previous success-based fiber-to-the-tower (FTT) capital projects.

“We have closely partnered with this customer to provide metro dark fiber solutions across Zayo’s national and global footprint,” said Randy Dunbar, senior vice president of Metro Dark Fiber at Zayo. “This is the latest of many transactions that support this customer’s strong infrastructure investment to support their rapid business expansion. The low-latency fiber solution provides the performance, speed and diversity the customer requires as they scale.”

Enterprises in many sectors are moving to high-performance, low-latency networks, which were once utilized primarily by financial trading firms. Content, media and technology companies that depend on fast, reliable movement of data for transactions are increasingly adopting low-latency networks.

Zayo is the largest provider of dark fiber in North America, with dense intercity routes and deep metro networks in 47 States in the U.S. and nine provinces in Canada. Solutions include point-to-point and dark fiber rings, which connect data centers, enterprise locations and wireless sites in a variety of configurations.
