FusionLayer: Traditional and SDN Networks in Harmony

FusionLayer Infinity Certified on the Nuage Networks Virtualized Services Platform

ESPOO, Finland--()--FusionLayer, Inc. today announced the certification of its Software-Defined IP Address Management (SD-IPAM) solution, FusionLayer Infinity, on the Nuage Networks from Nokia Virtualized Services Platform (VSP). This certification allows data centers and service providers to manage both traditional and VSP-enabled software-defined networks using FusionLayer Infinity as the unified management solution.

Juha Holkkola, CEO of FusionLayer commented: “As enterprise data centers and service providers start looking beyond Proof-of-Concept installations and make plans to take SDN into production, a common source of problems is the threat of overlap between SDN-enabled and traditional networks. Combining Nuage Networks Virtualized Service Platform with FusionLayer Infinity allows all networks to be managed within a unified solution, making sure that everything is organized neatly in one place.”

To simplify the network management process, FusionLayer Infinity retrieves the network configurations managed by VSP automatically and displays the data as contextual information for real-time visibility and provisioning purposes. The solution also allows network administrators to select free networks from existing network blocks and automatically push them into the VSP for immediate service activation.

Charles Ferland, Vice President, Business Development, Nuage Networks from Nokia, said: “Nuage Networks Virtualized Service Platform provides secure, policy-driven network automation for private, public and hybrid clouds. The addition of FusionLayer Infinity into our certified partner solutions will make it easy for VSP customers to manage IP address spaces for their entire network regardless of the form factor used or the location.”

Once the SDN-enabled and traditional networks are managed centrally in FusionLayer Infinity, multiple orchestrators can be integrated to it for release parameter provisioning. This ensures that workloads, containers and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) elements can be easily deployed inside the same networks without a risk of overlap.

FusionLayer’s unified Software-Defined IP Address Management (SD-IPAM) solution simplifies this process by providing multiple orchestrators with an access to shared network data. This in turn minimizes the number of integrations required for fully automated workflows and reduces the project costs while speeding up the time-to-market for new innovative services.

FusionLayer Infinity with support for Nuage Networks VSP is available immediately.
