CompuCom and Getronics Announce Selection of Topnew Info as Strategic China and Hong Kong Partner for Global Workspace Alliance 2.0

Partnership Significantly Enhances GWA’s Capabilities in APAC as It Expands Direct Business and Operational Presence in Region

DALLAS--()--Significantly enhancing the Global Workspace Alliance’s (GWA) capabilities in APAC and expanding its direct presence in the region, GWA leaders CompuCom®, a leading technology infrastructure services company, and Getronics, the global ICT services group, announce the signing of an agreement with Chinese service provider Topnew Info as the Alliance’s strategic partner for China and Hong Kong. The GWA is the consortium of leading IT providers offering global workspace services to international companies.

Headquartered in Beijing, Topnew Info is a high-tech information technology company authorized by the Management Committee of Science & Technology and listed on China’s NEEQ (National Equities Exchange and Quotations). With more than 1,500 employees, 360 field engineers and 10+ branch offices across mainland China and Hong Kong, the company supports more than 1,000 customers, including Apple®, Baidu®, Huawei®, LG®, and SK, among others. Topnew Info is the IT subsidiary company of Topnew Group, a China-based national company with activities in construction and manufacturing sectors.

“We have a growing number of clients who include China as a strategic region today, driving the need for expanded support services from the GWA. We are excited to expand our efforts in China with such a well-respected organization,” said Greg Hoogerland, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, CompuCom, and GWA Executive Director. “This partnership adds strength to our global capabilities and will help bring consistent services in support of our growing user community.”

This partnership also strengthens the GWA’s data center capabilities, with four data centers (ISO9001 and ISO27001) across Beijing and Tianjin providing hosting, cloud computing and internet access services for global clients for 11 years.

GWA’s Executive Director and Getronics COO, Thomas Fetten, said: “On behalf of the Board, we are pleased to announce this very exciting formal addition to the Alliance. Topnew Info has been a partner for CompuCom in China for many years, and has proven to be an excellent organization, with special focus on service quality and extensive regional coverage.”

Fetten added: “Over the years, we’ve learned that it is important to support our clients in solving the seemingly conflicting paradigm of contracting globally consistent services while striving to benefit from the local insight, flexibility and socio-political understanding that are required by local business units. Having that local knowledge and ‘feet on the street’ strengthens our globally consistent position and allows us to be flexible to our customers’ requirements, providing that local intimacy remains such a vital part of this business.”

As a result of the agreement and the signing of the GWA’s Participation Charter, Topnew Info will become the preferred partner for mainland China and Hong Kong and the 11th strategic member overall.

“We are very excited about this partnership. We strongly believe this is a win-win for both sides, including our shareholders who have shown great enthusiasm to this alliance. Working with global companies will accelerate Topnew Info’s international growth and I will ensure my team is committed to the continuous growth of our joint business,” said Mr. Peter Gao, CEO of Topnew Info.

Fellow GWA members include: Getronics and CompuCom, leading members with presence in Europe, APAC, and North America; SPIE Communications (France, Switzerland), Tecnocom (Iberia and Latam), AGCN (Middle East), Centric (the Netherlands), Eire Systems (Japan), Infocare (Nordics), NSC (Italy) and S&T (Eastern Europe).
