Klas Telecom Announces Name Change of its U.S. Government Sales Subsidiary

WASHINGTON--()--Klas Telecom, an engineering and design company that specializes in developing secure, network-edge communications technology, announced today that it has renamed its subsidiary Klas Telecom Services, Inc. to Klas Telecom Government, Inc., effective immediately. The name change reflects Klas Telecom Services’ growth and transition, led by President and CEO David Huisenga, from a post sales and product support company to a full-fledged sales and services company, and better aligns the organization with its main customer base, the U.S. government and Department of Defense. Klas Telecom Government offers its customers a full range of capabilities including product design, end-to-end sales, integration, product support and training.

“The name change to Klas Telecom Government allows us to emphasize our business objective and commitment to providing U.S. and international government users with advanced, deployable communications systems,” said Huisenga. “It’s important for us to communicate that distinction to our customers and prospects.”

The announcement comes on the heels of Klas Telecom Government’s recent office relocation from Reston, VA to a much larger space in Herndon, VA. The move was due, in large part, to the increased adoption by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) of Klas Telecom’s Voyager product line and the corresponding need for more offices and laboratories. Voyager is a suite of modular and scalable deployable networking equipment designed for use in austere environments where low size, weight, power and ruggedization are crucial.

A key factor in the growth of Voyager and Klas Telecom Government took place in July 2014 when Voyager was added to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Approved Products List (APL) enabling any DoD component to purchase the system and operate it across all DoD network infrastructure. In June 2015, DISA added the VoyagerECK, a portable, secure voice, video, and data communications package, to the APL. The VoyagerECK was also one of three solutions approved by DISA for use across the DoD Enterprise Classified Travel Kit Gateway (DECKTK-GW).
