RiskSense Wins First-Ever Innovation New Mexico Award

Cyber Risk Management Pioneer Recognized for Innovation, Impact, and Disruption

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. & SUNNYVALE, Calif.--()--RiskSense®, Inc., the pioneer and market leader in pro-active cyber risk management, today announced that it has won the inaugural Innovation New Mexico Award sponsored by Albuquerque Business First, part of the American City Business Journals network. In April, RiskSense was selected from hundreds of companies as one of 30 finalists for the award. Following a final round of judging of the awards nominations in May, the company received top honors for its innovation, impact, and disruption during a public awards ceremony at Civic Plaza in downtown Albuquerque last week.

“We are honored to be recognized as the first-ever winner of the Innovation New Mexico Awards,” said Torsten George, vice president of global marketing and products at RiskSense. “Albuquerque is emerging as a technology hotbed and spawning world-class companies like RiskSense that are typically associated with Silicon Valley. The RiskSense Platform transforms cyber risk management into a pro-active, collaborative, and real-time discipline – while reducing cyber security risks by up to 95%.”

RiskSense was created by a team that collaborated with the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community to defend critical networks against the world’s most dangerous cyber adversaries. RiskSense founders developed Computational Analysis of Cyber Terrorism against the U.S. (CACTUS), Support Vectors Intrusion Detection, Behavior Risk Analysis of Vicious Executables (BRAVE), and the Strike Team Program.

The RiskSense Software-as-a-Service platform uses patented technology and leverages existing technology investments to unify and contextualize internal security intelligence (e.g., vulnerabilities, control posture, events), external threat data (e.g., exploits, malware, threat actors, reputational intelligence), and business criticality to identify imminent cyber risks and prioritize remediation actions for physical and virtual assets within an organization’s infrastructure. In turn, organizations are offered a risk-based prioritization of the gaps that need to be mitigated first based on their business impact.

Innovation New Mexico Award judges included Robert DelCampo, executive director of the Innovation Academy and office of the provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at the University of New Mexico, as well as Barbara Lopez, program manager of IT at PNM Resources, an investor-owned energy holding company based in Albuquerque.
