ST. CLOUD, Minn.--()--Minnesota-based equipment manufacturer DCI has gained exclusive North American rights to manufacture the VARO HPT (horizontal processing tank). This revolutionary unit joins efficient mixing with quick processing to help food manufacturers establish honest “clean labels” with shorter ingredient lists for their products. A buzz concept among today’s consumers, these clean labels gained with the help of the VARO HPT by DCI are popular because of their direct correlation to the many benefits gained by making healthy eating choices.

The VARO HPT by DCI features a doubled heating and cooling surface due to the tank’s unique agitator coil design. The resulting efficiency includes faster cooking time, better natural flavors, naturally-preserved colors and retained shape of large particles through gentler processing than traditional tanks. The optional condenser and aroma recovery unit further enhance the preservation of natural flavors.

DCI is currently offering a Pilot Plant option with an approximate 132-gallon capacity, along with their turnkey customer service. To try before they buy, food manufacturers can order a test tank that will be installed at their site by DCI’s team in order to ensure complete satisfaction before a solid investment is made in that same size of tank or larger ones of either 320 or 660 approximate-gallon capacities. The initial industry feedback has echoed the benefits DCI lists for the VARO HPT tank.

“We cook bigger quantities... faster than before,” said Bernard Verhamme, Belgium-based Confiture L’Ardennaise CEO and customer of the VARO HPT unit. “Because we cook for a shorter amount of time at a lower temperature, it takes less manpower and energy consumption than before. The quality of our fruit spread products has definitely been raised with the HPT. We get better and more efficient quality. [We won] two golden stars with the Superior Taste Award, so obviously I would recommend this unit for anyone else working within the food industry.” DCI’s acquisition of the VARO HPT’s North American manufacturing rights supports the company’s corporate vision to lead the way in providing high-quality products and services, according to Chad Leither, CFO of DCI.

“We have a lot of integrity in the work that we do, and the people at VARO are no different,” said Leither. “To begin manufacturing the HPT is to continue our 60-year-strong reputation for guaranteeing top-quality custom craftsmanship and superb customer service. We want to see our customers succeed, and staying closely aligned with trends in the marketplace is one of our biggest strengths.”
