BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IHRDC is pleased to announce that its e-Learning production team today released a new version of IPIMS, the company’s award-winning knowledge and learning system covering all areas of Upstream Petroleum Technology. The new 3.2 version incorporates several enhancements in design and usability. In addition, four new topics in petroleum geology, petroleum geophysics, and petroleum engineering have been updated following the new IPIMS learning strategy.
The new release is part of IHRDC’s ongoing, comprehensive IPIMS Update, which includes a major instructional design transformation of IPIMS Background Learning to meet the needs, challenges, and culture of today’s oil and gas industry learners. The features employ interactive content designed to engage the learner and increase retention. Content is presented to the users in a way that permits them to explore and discover material in a challenging manner.
For the current v3.2 release, the IPIMS development team focused on re-designing the IPIMS Login, Portal, and Selector pages in conjunction with the new IPIMS Background Learning interface. They also upgraded the IPIMS Search Engine and Background Knowledge ‘Browse by Discipline’ functionality. The four new and updated topics ensure the library reflects current knowledge and best practices. This brings the total production of new IPIMS topics completed during the past year to 14 topics and 66 subtopics.
