Simply Hired Reports U.S. Job Listings Grew 1.46% in April 2016

Simply Hired releases job outlook for the Class of 2016 including the ‘Best Cities for Graduates Seeking Work-Life Balance’: Denver and Washington DC top the list

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--()--Simply Hired, the largest independent job search engine with properties in 24 countries and 12 languages, today released its Simply Hired U.S. Employment Outlook for April 2016. The report analyzes Simply Hired’s comprehensive index of millions of online job listings in every occupation to provide detailed insight into national and local job trends. According to the latest findings, nationwide job listings have increased in April 2016 with 1.46% month-over-month growth. This marks the fifth consecutive month of gains in U.S job openings.

This month’s Simply Hired U.S. Employment Outlook also provides comprehensive data on job openings, growth, and employers by U.S. metro. The new report shows that job listings have increased in 24 of the Top 25 largest U.S. metros in April 2016. The metros with the largest gains are: Raleigh-Durham (3.25%), Minneapolis-St. Paul (3.23%), Charlotte (3.21%), Phoenix (3.17%), and Atlanta (3.09%).

The Best Cities for New Graduates in 2016

Simply Hired’s data shows a positive outlook for college graduates this year, with 5.59% of total jobs targeted for new graduates. This is up from 5% of total jobs in 2015.

This month’s Simply Hired U.S. Employment Outlook ranks the best cities for college graduates seeking a meaningful career without forgoing lifestyle amenities. Focusing on jobs targeted toward new and recent graduates with 4-year degrees, and weighted for past job growth, potential career path, and salary potential, the list also analyzes the overall unemployment rate, concentration of jobs targeted for new grads, and cost of living vs. regional salary.
