Ebates.com Survey Confirms that Moms Are Looking Forward to Flowers, Chocolates and Family Time This Mother’s Day

Survey also reveals that some moms don’t leave Mother’s Day up to dads and kids – 50 percent pick out their own gifts at least sometimes

SAN FRANCISCO--()--According to new research released today by Ebates.com, the pioneer and leader in online cash back shopping and subsidiary of the global Internet services company Rakuten, the top gift on American moms’ Mother’s Day gift wish list is quality time with their family (63 percent), followed by flowers (33 percent) and chocolate (28 percent).

“This year’s survey demonstrates that gift choices vary between moms, with some looking forward to the classic gifts like flowers and chocolates, and others looking forward to getting pampered,” said Kevin H. The survey also revealed that 42 percent of moms pick out their own Mother’s Day gifts some of the time, while another 8 percent say they always pick out their own gifts. The other half trust their families to get it right the first time, and never buy their own gifts.

Americans plan to go big for Mother’s Day 2016

Mother’s Day spending is up in 2016 – way up. Last year, 35 percent of Americans planned to spend between $20-$50 and only 12 percent planned to spend between $100 and $150.

This year, 30 percent of Americans plan to spend $51-$100 on Mother's Day and another 27 percent will spend between $100-$250.
