NAPA, Calif.--()--Jarvis Estate Winery in Napa, CA is pleased to announce that Will Jarvis has been promoted from Vice President to the position of President. He will oversee all business operations and continue the winemaking legacy started by his parents William & Leticia Jarvis, and longtime Winemaking Consultant Dimitri Tchelistcheff, son of Andre Tchelistcheff.

Will brings powerful insights and expertise to his role as President by combining his past experience in science and business with his passion for the wine industry. Prior to rejoining Jarvis, Will worked at two pre-IPO biotech companies that have since gone public. During his time working as a scientist he received the Presidential Green Chemistry award for research that was done on behalf of Merck and then published in the journal Science. After completing his MBA, Will interned at Sequoia Capital where he conducted investment diligence, and later became one the founding members of a life sciences business advisory and investment banking firm, before returning to help manage the Jarvis family winery. Will graduated high school from Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire and received his Bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University where he majored in Biology and minored in Economics. He later received his MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, and has also completed coursework in winemaking and wine-business at UC Davis and Sonoma State.

“I look forward to continuing our winemaking traditions and to continue providing our guests with an exceptional wine tasting experience, which has become a hallmark of Napa Valley. Family owned wineries like Jarvis are in particular sought out by visitors looking for an intimate and authentic tasting experience,” Will said.

Will grew up on the Jarvis estate, where he witnessed the planting of the first vineyards, and the excavation of what ultimately became the first completely underground winery facility. Already engaged in the winemaking process, Will made his first wine at the age of 13 as part of a science fair project he conducted at the Harker middle school. His experimental wine showed the advantages of small-barrel production and eventually developed into a popular commercial product at the winery called the Will Jarvis Science Project. Since then he has worked in every capacity of the business starting at the age of 15 when he began working in the fields and vineyards, after which he gained experience in shipping, visitor relations, and accounting.
