REDWOOD CITY, Calif. & DUBLIN--()--Hadoop Summit –– Talend, the global leader in big data integration software, today announced that Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has selected Talend Data Services as the foundation for its enterprise-wide back office system overhaul.

Following a thorough review of competing integration solutions, Flybe selected Talend to fuel the company’s ‘Back to Basics’ program. This initiative aims to accelerate system-to-system sharing of data, eliminate manual processes and reduce manual intervention.

“We needed to implement a strategic data integration solution at Flybe to connect several systems—none of which interoperated with the other—and to provide future capabilities for systems interaction,” said Mark Smith, head of development, Digital & BI, Flybe. “We needed a solution that could transfer data from one system into multiple systems, potentially at different levels of granularity, while ensuring data consistency across systems. We believe Talend is the perfect fit.”

Flybe Data Gets Upgraded with Talend
Talend Data Services is currently being used in the ‘Back to Basics’ program to integrate five of Flybe’s strategic back-office business systems, along with a number of other data sources. The new Talend-based system facilitates the exchange of data and delivers more end-to-end business insight leading to more informed decision making.

Looking to the future and anticipated company growth, Flybe will take advantage of Talend’s ability to plug/unplug systems as they scale without needing to rebuild interfaces and to keep up with necessary modifications to business process design and data flow, all with minimal disruption to the business.

“We’re excited to be working with Flybe to help them elevate their back office systems to the next level,” said Ciaran Dynes, vice president of products, Talend. “Today’s travel marketplace is highly competitive. Businesses need an accurate and complete view of their data in order to stay one step ahead.”
