VAIO® EXPANDS DISTRIBUTION CHANNELS TO B&H PHOTO VIDEO, DATAVISION AND INGRAM MICRO

New business relationships allow premium notebook manufacturer to widen offering to New York market and additional U.S. resellers

Premium notebook manufacturer VAIO Corporation today announced its new strategic alliances with well-known New York retailers B&H Photo Video, and DataVision, as well as the world’s largest wholesale technology distributor Ingram Micro. These relationships come on the heels of the company’s recently released, high-end line of laptops specifically created for mobile business professionals.

“VAIO® has a rich history and has a strong interest from the New York market, having catered to commuting business professionals seeking portable, yet powerful, laptops,” said Yoshitaka Oguchi, head of global business, VAIO Corporation. “We are thrilled to once again be working with B&H Photo Video and DataVision teams who know the New York market inside out, and of course, Ingram Micro’s proven capabilities nationally and globally give us the reach to expand our channel beyond New York.”

“VAIO products have always resonated well with our clientele, and we look forward to continuing business as a VAIO retailer,” said Joel Fish of B&H Photo Video. Jimmy Garson, CEO of DataVision added, “DataVision is excited to offer VAIO products once again. Our customers have been asking for VAIO notebooks, and we’re happy and proud to have them displayed in our store.”

VAIO has more than 40 Ingram Micro resellers and is looking to increase this number substantially with reseller incentive programs. “VAIO is a recognized brand within the IT channel and we’re pleased to add them to our portfolio,” said Mike Erwin, senior director, Commercial Markets, Ingram Micro. “High-performance, mobile-friendly notebooks that are easy to use and manage are a popular choice for SMBs and enterprises, and make the case for refreshing old technology that much easier.”

With the expansion of distribution channels and the recent release of its high-end laptops, VAIO is poised to once again elevate its presence within the PC market since the company’s emergence back into the U.S. in late 2015.
