Valassis Expands Multi-channel Approach to Have You Seen Me? Missing Child Program

Company Leverages Power of Its Intelligent Media, Calls on Public to Aid in Search

LIVONIA, Mich.--()--Valassis, a leader in intelligent media delivery, extends its Have You Seen Me?® program beyond its existing RedPlum® channels to now include a new dedicated mobile application and distribution through Clipper® Magazine. The expanded program leverages our intelligent media platform to activate consumers who have the power to help find missing children.

A newly released Have You Seen Me? app for iPhone® makes it even easier to view photos of children last seen in a given area. Start by scanning the Have You Seen Me? logo across RedPlum and Clipper products delivered in the mail and newspaper to:

  • View profiles of missing children in the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) database;
  • Tap to call NCMEC and report information that could lead to a recovery; and
  • Tap to visit NCMEC’s website to learn more about how they keep our nation’s children safer.

The Have You Seen Me? app is available in the App Store®.

Additionally, the Have You Seen Me? program is now featured across Clipper Magazine’s family of print publications including Clipper, Mint, Local Flavor and Savvy Shopper as well as online at LocalFlavor.com. Valassis acquired Clipper, the leading provider of multi-channel marketing and promotional solutions to local businesses, in November 2015. One of the largest direct-mail publishers in the country, 332 local editions are published in 27 states, reaching 25 million homes.

“Together with our clients and consumers, we have the power to change lives,” said Victor Nichols, Valassis CEO. “When we take just a few minutes to look at the photos of these missing children, we increase the likelihood of a recovery. Help us continue to deliver hope through this proven program.”

To date, 158 children have been recovered as a direct result of the Have You Seen Me? program. Valassis works closely with NCMEC and law enforcement to feature children in areas where there is the greatest opportunity for recovery.

“We cannot do this alone,” said John F. Clark, NCMEC president and CEO. “With partners like Valassis -- a company that continually looks for ways to innovate and leverage its capabilities for the greater good – we are able to make a difference in the lives of searching families and missing children.”

Valassis joined forces with NCMEC in 1985 to ensure that no missing child is ever forgotten. By featuring recent or age-progressed photos of missing children and their alleged abductors when possible, Valassis encourages the American public to take part in the effort to help safely recover these children. Valassis has continued to expand the program over its 31 years. Today, missing children reach more than 100 million households each week as part of the Have You Seen Me? program.
