KoolSpan Appoints Julie Holdren, Cybersecurity and Technology Industry Visionary, as Chief Operating Officer

BETHESDA, Md.--()--KoolSpan, Inc., a leading provider of interoperable secure voice and messaging solutions for mobile phones, announced today that it has appointed Julie Holdren as its Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Products. As Chief Operating Officer, Holdren is charged with leading KoolSpan’s operations, as well as operating the TrustCall Global Service, KoolSpan’s subscription-based secure end-to-end mobile encrypted calling and text messaging solution. In her role as Vice President of Product, Holdren’s responsibilities include the management and expansion of KoolSpan’s cross-platform, encrypted mobile communications security solutions that address the growing threats to sensitive business and personal conversations and texts.

“The proliferation of cyber attacks on mobile devices and widespread eavesdropping, surveillance and corporate espionage campaigns have accelerated the need for secure mobile calling and text messaging solutions. Because this impacts so many users—consumers and enterprises alike—these solutions also need to be accessible across mobile platforms and usable for practically anyone,” said Nigel Jones, CEO, KoolSpan. “Julie has joined KoolSpan at a critical time where we will be putting her operational expertise and visionary management skills to work as we expand KoolSpan’s innovative, flexible, seamless and secure mobile communications solutions.”

Holdren comes to KoolSpan with 25 years in executive-level operations and product management positions within multiple technology and cybersecurity companies. Prior to joining KoolSpan, she personally founded three start-up companies and served at each as CEO: OGI, a SharePoint mobile security software and insider threat product company; Twin-Soft, a business intelligence service provider to the Federal Government; and Olympus Group, a commercial web application development provider. Following the acquisition of OGI by Fixmo, Julie was EVP of Collaboration Security Products for the secure mobile container company and ran on-shore and off-shore development teams building next generation products.

Once profiled by Washingtonian as one of the DC area’s “Young Millionaires,” under-40 newsmakers in the regional tech community, Holdren holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from George Mason University. She has been selected as George Mason University’s alumnus of the year and received the Outstanding Engineering Entrepreneurial award from the School of Engineering. Holdren has testified before the U.S. Senate on technology workforce issues. She has also served on the White House Millennium Council and Boards of Directors of the Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital, the Alexandria, Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Washington Board of Trade.
