AUSTIN, Texas--()--CBANC, the professional network for community bank and credit union professionals, unveiled a robust set of new features for members including a reputation-based leaderboard, an interactive social feed and an industry-specific curated daily newsfeed. These significant product enhancements come as CBANC’s member engagement has increased by 386 percent year-over-year since January 2015. The company also announced the hire of John Mauro as director of product management for vendor solutions.

CBANC’s new product innovations represent a major leap forward in the company’s ability to help community financial industry (CFI) professionals. By giving members the unique ability to connect with industry leaders and other peers throughout the country on a deeper level, CBANC and its network can lead the evolution of community banking together.

“Over the past year, CBANC has undergone a metamorphosis as the network became an essential business tool for all levels of CFI professionals,” said CBANC CEO Bryan Koontz. “We’ve taken the public, general-purpose model of LinkedIn and created a state-of-the-art, private and secure place for our members to connect with each other, share information, stay up-to-date on industry news and build their careers and professional reputations.”

Among CBANC’s new features are:

The CBANC Leaderboard: This reputation-based leaderboard recognizes members for their contributions within the community based on how others rank their responses to questions and organic commentary. The leaderboard serves to help members better understand and learn about their peers within the secure network.

The Wire: Much like other social media feeds, The Wire serves to enhance the ways members share information and interact within CBANC. Members can post photos from a conference they’re attending, follow other members and vendors with similar interests or share articles with their followers.

The Daily News: Separate from The Wire, which distributes information from user to user, CBANC powers the new daily newsfeed—a collection of relevant articles and industry news sent directly to its members’ inboxes. The daily newsfeed is a single go-to source for staying up-to-speed on CFI trends, regulatory items, new technologies and more.

CBANC continues to be the essential source for compliance documents and answers from peers on regulatory and vendor questions, having realized a 3,000 percent year-over-year increase in document contributions since January 2015. Now, it’s also the premier social professional network for CEOs, branch managers, compliance officers, vendors and other bank and credit union professionals seeking to be recognized for their contributions to the industry and establish themselves as thought leaders.

Leading the development of the network’s evolving feature set is Mauro, who joins CBANC as the company continues to make investments in its platform and network. In his role as director of product management for vendor solutions, Mauro will spearhead the enhancement of features that help vendors contribute subject matter expertise to CBANC members and benefit from the network as a one-of-a-kind community marketing platform.

Prior to joining CBANC, Mauro was a product manager at HomeAway, where he managed high-impact products on both sides of the marketplace focusing on the checkout experience and new monetization opportunities. He also previously held the director of product position at TabbedOut, an NEA-backed mobile payments startup, where he led product management and design for iOS and Android apps. Mauro earned a master’s degree in business administration from Rice University and a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

“I’m thrilled to join a company deeply rooted in culture and to lead a team that is committed to making a lasting impact on the community finance industry,” said Mauro. “As CBANC becomes the daily go-to social network for its members, I look forward to working with our first-class team to continue to enhance the network to better serve our growing community.”

CBANC plans to release additional enhancements in the coming months, including increased solutions for vendors, member polls, additions to The Wire, topics pages and UX improvements.
