Cerebrum Health Centers Expands Veteran Treatment Program

DALLAS--()--Cerebrum Health Centers, a leading integrative medical facility for brain health treatment and rehabilitation, is expanding the company’s veteran treatment program by enhancing the internal support system in order to assist more veterans in receiving care. In the last three years, hundreds of veterans have been treated for traumatic brain injuries at Cerebrum, including Marcus Lutrell and Matthew Bessler. The facility aims to treat more than 100 veterans in 2016.

Veterans visit the clinic for two weeks of immersive care and undergo multiple daily sessions, including activity-based therapies and diagnostics that provide measurable results. In a recent study, more than 80 percent of veterans showed a marked improvement following treatment at Cerebrum’s Dallas clinic.

“Cerebrum is committed to helping those who have served our country, and our clinicians are able to achieve positive outcomes for many veterans,” said Thomas “Drago” Dzieran, former U.S. Navy SEAL and Director of Veteran Programs for Cerebrum. “We are creating a community of military patients who have bonded while facing similar challenges in returning to civilian life, which is evident in the veteran-specific relaxation room where words of encouragement cover the walls.”

Cerebrum’s veteran program has many supporters, including the former governor of Texas, Rick Perry, who recently visited the facility after recommending the treatment to retired Army Ranger, Sgt. Bessler.

If a veteran is a candidate for treatment based on their specific condition and symptoms, Drago will coordinate with several military support organizations, as well as schedule care, travel accommodations and serve as the primary point of contact for veterans before, during and after treatment.

Drago served 20 years as a U.S. Navy SEAL, earning a Bronze Star with V combat device and a Navy Achievement Medal with V combat for his service, including multiple combat tours, as well as an Army Achievement Medal, among others.
