Pacific Life Announces Vice President Promotions

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--()--Pacific Life Insurance Company’s Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer James T. Morris recently announced five new vice presidents. The following promotions will be effective April 1, 2016.

Frank Boynton to vice president, Operations, Retirement Solutions Division

Mr. Boynton began his career with Pacific Life in 1996 as a customer service representative and he has held positions of increasing responsibility within the Retirement Solutions Division (RSD) Operations Department before being promoted to director, Customer Service, in 2003 and assistant vice president, Operations, in 2005. Mr. Boynton’s responsibilities include oversight of the division’s Customer Service call center, Operations Account Management, Operations Project Management and Operations Audit Support Services. As vice president Mr. Boynton will assume full ownership of RSD’s Customer Experience efforts. Mr. Boynton lives in Aliso Viejo and is a graduate of Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in economics.

Donna Burton to vice president, Human Resources-Total Rewards, Corporate Division

Ms. Burton joined Pacific Life in 2007 as a Human Resources generalist. She was promoted to assistant vice president, Human Resources Business Partner, in 2011 and transitioned to the Human Resources Total Rewards team in January 2014. As vice president, Human Resources Total Rewards, Ms. Burton will have full responsibility for the compensation, benefits, payroll and human resource information system functions. A resident of Mission Viejo, Ms. Burton has two bachelor’s degrees, finance and marketing, from Boston College.

Chris Dallas to vice president, Investment Counsel, Corporate Division

Mr. Dallas joined Pacific Life in 2004 as an assistant vice president, Investment Counsel, in the Corporate Division. He oversees legal matters related to investments, providing legal advice and counsel to Investment Management, Real Estate, Pacific Asset Management and Pacific Asset Advisors LLC regarding significant and complex investment transactions. He serves as the secretary of Pacific Life’s Management Investment and Credit Committee, providing legal advice and input on key investment-related decisions, recommending options that are likely to optimize recoveries. As vice president, Investment Counsel, Mr. Dallas will have expanded responsibilities and will serve as the head of the Investment legal function. Mr. Dallas lives in Irvine. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s degree in law and society. Mr. Dallas received his Juris Doctor from the Pepperdine University School of Law.

Darlene Goodwin to vice president, Application Services, Corporate Division

Ms. Goodwin, a resident of Seal Beach, joined Pacific Life in 1989 as an Investment Accounting specialist. She held positions within the investment accounting and systems departments and was promoted to director, Investment Accounting Systems, in 2003 and assistant vice president, Investment Management Division, Information Technology, in 2010. Ms. Goodwin’s responsibilities include applications for Real Estate, Aviation Capital Group, Treasury, Compliance, Law, Corporate Secretary, Finance and Human Resources. Ms. Goodwin is accountable for application development and administration, database design and administration as well as production integration and support, and business and functional analysis. She is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Bradley Sherrell to vice president, Technology Office, Life Insurance Division

Mr. Sherrell joined Pacific Life in 1992 as a programmer analyst and was promoted to director, Information Technology, in 2000 and assistant vice president, Information Technology, in 2001. For the past eight years, he has held the position of assistant vice president, Technology Office. Mr. Sherrell serves as the chief technology officer for the Life Insurance Division (LID), responsible for defining its technology strategy, evaluating technologies and system portfolios associated with potential acquisitions, and strengthening the information security, information management and disaster recovery capabilities. Mr. Sherrell provides leadership on Information Risk Management at the enterprise level and serves as LID’s information security officer. A resident of San Clemente, Mr. Sherrell has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Truman State University.
