Seasoned Cyber Security Leader, Eric Murphy, Joins the Industry’s Premier Managed Services Platform for WordPress

Joining the executive team at the company’s headquarters in Austin, Texas, Murphy will spearhead WP Engine’s practices around information security, threat research, compliance, and corporate security for its IT systems and operations as well as its products. He will report to Beth Weeks the Senior Vice President of Research & Development at WP Engine.

A multi-certified security specialist with over 15 years of industry experience, Murphy brings an extensive background working with virtualization technologies and cloud services to his new role leading WP Engine’s security team. He has a proven track record of creatively implementing advanced solutions that drive agility, efficiency, and scalability while maintaining the highest level of security.

Prior to joining WP Engine, Murphy served on executive teams for other industry-leading organizations where he led the development and management of security-focused, highly efficient data processing, e-commerce, mobile, and business development applications. In addition, he developed real-time threat modeling, built red and blue teams to war game security infrastructure, and created numerous information security and incident response programs. Murphy's experience spans security and network architecture for multiple organizations and industries.
