VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WashingtonExec, with Presenting Sponsor The Aerospace Corporation and Gold Sponsors Vencore and Siemens Government Technologies, will hold the 2016 K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Symposium, the largest annual K-12 STEM Symposium in Northern Virginia. More than 2,500 children, parents, teachers and business leaders are expected to attend from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 12, 2016 at the Nysmith School in Herndon, Va.
More than 40 high-tech, engineering and science education, nonprofit, government and industry organizations will be represented at the free event through keynote and panel discussions, classroom breakout sessions, interactive exhibits, and top student science fair projects.
In conjunction with this year’s STEM Symposium theme “Opportunities in STEM,” interactive exhibits will include UAVs, flight simulators, smallsats/drones, physics experiments, topography models, heart monitors, 3D printers, robotics, safe cybersecurity practices, connected cars and other exhibits aimed at students in kindergarten all the way through college.
The Defense Intelligence Agency, George Mason University, Volgenau School of Engineering, Hewett Packard Enterprise, JASON Learning, Microsoft in Education, the Smithsonian Science Education Center, The Children’s Science Center, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity Education and Awareness (CE&A) Branch and the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center under the U.S. Department of Transportation are a few of the Symposium’s exhibiting partners.
