BARCELONA, Spain--()--Goodix, a world leader in innovative human interface solutions for mobile devices, announced three new technologies at Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona, including the world’s first Live Finger Detection™ technology to enhance security; the force-sensitive Newton Touch™ panel, and an ultra-low power heart rate sensor, which enables smart earphone with heart rate detection capability.

“Goodix is at the forefront of China’s rising semiconductor industry, and has grown into one of the world’s top players with innovative fingerprint and touchscreen solutions,” said David Zhang, founder and CEO of Goodix. “Aiming to become a world-class IC design company, we are making significant investments to develop breakthrough technologies that make the mobile experience more natural, convenient and secure.”

Live Finger Detection™ is the world’s first technology that can detect the user’s pulse to enhance security and reject counterfeit or cloned fingerprints. This technology seamlessly integrates a capacitive fingerprint sensor and an optical heart rate sensor into one silicon sensor design, which authenticates users with fingerprint as well as finger skin color and heart rate signals.

Newton Touch™ is a force-sensitive solution that supports a variety of displays, such as AMOLED, In-cell and GFF. The Force sensing range is from 50g to 800g with an accuracy rate greater than 80%. Goodix provides a one-stop testing platform for touch and Newton Touch solutions.

The integrated ultra-low power heart rate sensor, which enables a smart earphone with heart rate measurement capability, can measure the user’s heart rate while enjoying music or doing exercise. With ultra-low power consumption, it does not need to be charged and is easy to control via smartphone apps.

Goodix is also showcasing its full line of cutting-edge fingerprint and touchscreen solutions for smartphones, tablets and wearable products at MWC, including the CES award-winning Invisible Fingerprint Sensor- IFS™, which is the world’s first fingerprint sensor integrated with the touch panel, and Goodix Link™, allowing easy data transmission by touching two device screens to each other.
