MOTOR TREND Becomes First Automotive Media Brand to Surpass 1 Billion YouTube Views

LOS ANGELES--()--TEN: The Enthusiast Network announced today that MOTOR TREND’s YouTube channel surpassed 1 billion video views—a record for automotive media brands. With the help of its 3.7 million subscribers, MOTOR TREND’s videos have more than 5 billion minutes watched, 5 million likes, 2 million comments, and 900,000 shares, and they appear on more than 2 million playlists.

“Reaching 1 billion views is an important milestone that represents our commitment to MOTOR TREND original programming,” says TEN CEO Scott Dickey. “TEN will continue to build on our position as the top producer of original automotive programming by creating even more opportunities to connect our exciting video content with our passionate consumer base.”

The MOTOR TREND channel airs seven original programs, including the breakout hit Roadkill, which reaches on average more than 3 million viewers per episode. In 2015, Roadkill became YouTube’s first web series to launch as an online brand with a print magazine and events, such as Roadkill Nights, which took over the Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan to host drag races with more than 10,000 fans in attendance. The MOTOR TREND channel also hosts special weeklong programs based around high-profile events, such as MOTOR TREND’s Best Driver’s Car and HOT ROD Drag Week.

“The MOTOR TREND channel continues to be a producer of world-class content,” says TEN Chief Content Officer Angus MacKenzie. “We look forward to continuing to make this YouTube’s top channel for original automotive enthusiast content.”

Building on the success of the MOTOR TREND YouTube channel, The Enthusiast Network has launched Motor Trend OnDemand, providing subscribers advance access to MOTOR TREND original programming five weeks prior to it becoming available on the YouTube channel. Motor Trend OnDemand will also offer new original programming such as Roadkill Garage and Head2Head Drag Race, along with nearly 1,000 hours of exclusive automotive and motorsports programming that is not offered on the MOTOR TREND YouTube channel today.

For a limited time, visitors of Motor Trend OnDemand receive a free two-week trial with full access to the expanded slate of MOTOR TREND original programming and exclusive motorsports and original automotive series, such as the Pirelli World Challenge, Goodwood Festival of Speed, British Touring Car Championship, MotoAmerica, and much, much more.
