First Internet Bank Welcomes New Executive to Southwest Office

FISHERS, Ind.--()--First Internet Bank, a premier provider of online retail and business banking services nationwide, is pleased to announce Neil Barna has joined the company as Regional Vice President of Commercial and Industrial Lending at the Bank’s loan production office in Tempe, Arizona.

Mr. Barna comes to First Internet Bank with more than 30 years of banking experience. He was most recently the Senior Vice President of Meridian Bank in Scottsdale, where he leveraged his commercial banking experience to help expand the bank’s presence in the greater East Valley. Prior to that role, Mr. Barna served as the Executive Vice President at The Biltmore Bank of Arizona, and Owner and CEO of his own consulting company. Mr. Barna was the founding president and CEO of Mesa Bank, which opened in 1998 and was sold to a publicly traded holding company in 2002. He remained with Mesa Bank in the same role until 2010.

Mr. Barna has been active in a number of civic and charitable groups throughout his career. He is currently a member of the Mesa Hohokams, the Oakwood Creative Care Board of Directors, the Fiesta Bowl Committee and the A.T. Still University Investment Advisory Committee. He has served in various roles on the boards of the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, the Mesa Family YMCA Board of Membership, the Mesa Hohokam Foundation, Mesa County Country Club and East Valley Institute of Technology Education Foundation. Mr. Barna is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow in addition to the recipient of community service awards from the Mesa United Way, A.T. Still University and the Mesa Chamber of Commerce.

A graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Mr. Barna received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting and has attended various lending schools sanctioned by the American Bankers Association.
