Teachers-Teachers and myEDmatch Combine to Deliver Best Fit for Teachers

Merger Ties Nation’s Largest Teacher Recruitment Service with Job-Matching Platform

ST. LOUIS--()--Teachers-Teachers and myEDmatch today announced its merger, combining the nation’s largest teacher recruitment platform with customizable job-matching technology. Together, its mission is to provide innovative teacher-focused solutions that help teachers and schools find their best fit jobs.

“The combination of myEDmatch and Teachers-Teachers is a game-changer for teacher recruitment,” said Jonathan Howard, senior director of talent at Democracy Prep Public Schools. “We’ve always believed in the concept of job matching, and by integrating this innovative approach with a database of more than a million teachers, we will have a streamlined system to help us find the best fit educators for our schools and, ultimately, our students.”

“Many districts and charters are thinking more strategically about teacher recruitment as the teacher shortage continues to make national news,” said Jason Froelich, CEO of Teachers-Teachers. “Combining the matching technology of myEDmatch and our platform of educators creates an opportunity for us to better serve teachers and schools by providing a comprehensive set of tools to support the full job search, recruitment and placement continuum.”

Both myEDmatch and Teachers-Teachers are continuing to service customers through their existing websites where teachers can access nationwide jobs, identify their best fit and complete the interviewing process. For district and state users, services provide a seamless software application to track prospects through the full recruitment cycle from awareness and prospect engagement through application, placement, hire and retention.

“We are creating innovative products together to help teachers find the best fit and enable districts to hire and place teachers based on fit within the district,” said Alicia Herald, CEO and Founder of myEDmatch. “Teacher turnover is a multibillion dollar per year problem that affects millions of students each year.”

Herald’s experience includes teaching in the Los Angeles Unified School District and serving as the former executive director at Teach for America in Kansas City. “I know firsthand how important it is for teachers to feel confident and know they are making a difference. We can help facilitate this outcome by matching teachers with the best fit based on their skills, core beliefs and desired academic culture. We believe that better education begins with best fit teachers, and we can help kids by helping teachers be in the job they want.”

Teachers-Teachers has focused on education recruitment since 1999, while myEDmatch, an award winning start-up, has been innovating on the matching process since 2012. The Teachers-Teachers platform has grown to more than one million teachers, with usage tripling in 2015. The existing complementary product offerings are now integrated and serve more than 2,000 districts and charter schools across the country, including several statewide partnerships.

Froelich and Herald are announcing the merger Feb. 5-7 at the Teach for America 25th Anniversary Summit in Washington D.C. Herald, who is also a Senior Fellow in Education Innovation at Kauffman Foundation, will be presenting at the conference.
