Innovative App from BlueLine Grid Powers Bay Area Super Bowl Security

SAN FRANCISCO--()--A first-of-its-kind mobile app is in use this week by Northern California’s security teams coordinating Super Bowl 50 security plans.

BlueLine Grid, a D.C.-based startup, has deployed an application for the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC). The NCRIC is the Bay Area’s “fusion center,” one of 78 federally-supported intelligence and information centers that include representatives from top federal, state, and local agencies.

The Super Bowl rollout follows use of the platform by fusion center leaders in the wake of the terror attacks in Paris and San Bernardino.

“The BlueLine Grid platform enables us to alert our public safety and private sector partners in real-time and get their feedback more quickly and effectively,” said NCRIC Director Mike Sena, who is also President of the National Fusion Center Association. “It’s a first-of-its kind approach to critical incident management and regional collaboration.”

"BlueLine Grid solves the challenges of interoperability and information sharing that have been with us since 9/11 so our public safety agencies can protect us in today's dynamic threat environment," said Clark Ervin, Director of the Homeland Security Program at the Aspen Institute and a BlueLine Grid board member; Ervin previously served as Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

“BlueLine Grid brings real-time alerting and collaboration to NCRIC analysts and regional partners,” BlueLine Grid President Jack Weiss said. “We are replicating the NCRIC’s strategy with fusion centers, agencies, and corporations across the country.”

In 2015, BlueLine Grid received a strategic investment from In-Q-Tel, the investment arm of the U.S. Intelligence Community. Last month, BlueLine Grid announced a relationship with Motorola Solutions that will include integration of BlueLine Grid’s innovative software with Motorola’s public safety radio systems. BlueLine Grid’s investors include Double M Partners.
