WASHINGTON--()--Airlines for America (A4A), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, today named Penny Kozakos as Vice President, Communications. Kozakos joins A4A from public relations firm Burson-Marsteller where she is currently Managing Director, overseeing the operations and integration of the firm’s largest global account. She has extensive experience serving as a communications strategist and crisis counselor for a wide range of well-known brands, organizations and business executives.

In her new role, Kozakos will continue to evolve A4A’s campaigns that support A4A member airlines and expand outreach with national, regional and trade media outlets. Kozakos will also oversee A4A’s digital media team.

Kozakos will start Jan. 4, 2016, and will report to Jean Medina, A4A Senior Vice President, Communications.

“Penny is an accomplished communicator and strategist, whose decades of executive-level experience will bolster an already strong communications team,” Medina said. “Penny’s proven ability to effectively manage high-profile issues in a global marketplace makes her a perfect addition to A4A’s executive communications team.”

Prior to joining Burson-Marsteller in 1999, Kozakos held several roles with national media outlets including USA Today and NBC News. Kozakos received a Master of Science degree in mass communications from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia.
