Save Our Water Releases Conservation Education Videos for Children

Videos produced in partnership with nationally syndicated show Curiosity Quest Goes Green

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--()--Save Our Water – California’s official statewide conservation education program – has released a series of educational videos produced in partnership with the award winning, nationally syndicated show Curiosity Quest Goes Green. The three-minute videos will air on PBS stations in California as part of their ongoing efforts to keep Californians informed during this historic drought.

The videos, available on Save Our Water’s Vimeo page, are a great resource for parents looking for educational content to keep their children entertained during the upcoming holiday break. Save Our Water also will be promoting the videos on its Facebook page and Twitter feed. The videos cover saving water indoors and outdoor garden conservation.

“It is important that programs like Save Our Water reach out to younger audiences,” said Jennifer Persike, Deputy Executive Director of External Affairs and Member Services of the Association of California Water Agencies. “Curiosity Quest was an ideal partner for Save Our Water to help educate children on what they can do around the house to conserve.”

Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. recently issued an executive order that calls for additional actions to build on the state’s ongoing response to record dry conditions, including an extension of a mandatory statewide 25 percent water use reduction if drought conditions persist in January 2016. Save Our Water urges Californians to move beyond short-term water saving solutions and make permanent changes to conserve.

Save Our Water recently partnered with the Golden State Warriors and Comcast SportsNet to produce a public service announcement featuring the “Splash Brothers” – reigning National Basketball Association MVP Stephen Curry and All-Star guard Klay Thompson of the NBA Champion Warriors. “Splash Brothers” Stephen Curry & Klay Thompson PSA: http://www.csnbayarea.com/warriors/splash-brothers-psa-save-our-water

From tips on how to keep trees healthy during the drought to an interactive section allowing users to visually explore how they can save water both inside and outside the home, Save Our Water can help everyone easily conserve at home and at work, every day. Save Our Water connects with Californians on its Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
