Advent Intermodal Solutions Launches First in a Series of Upgrades to its eModal Platform to Boost Functionality and the End User Experience

Update lays the foundation for a complete redesign of the platform in 2016

MURRAY HILL, N.J.--()--Advent Intermodal Solutions (AIS), a leading provider of IT-based intermodal solutions, today announced new updates to its eModal platform as part of a planned 2016 redesign of the system. eModal is the world’s largest Port Community System (PCS) and is used extensively throughout North America.

This first update to eModal brings new service offerings to the PCS and offers stakeholders within the intermodal supply chain a common platform to share important information. Changes to the core functionality of the platform include:

  • New services such as the “eModal Community Portal,” where users can receive timely and accurate terminal information to improve logistics planning
  • Usability enhancements to the “Container Availability” and “Booking Inquiry” functions, including the addition of container “watch lists”
  • Intuitive screens and functionality for users to easily schedule appointments

eModal is a cloud solution that enables intermodal customers to manage truck registries, appointments, dispatching, chassis rental billing and fee payments and access to information across multiple terminals. Intermodal supply chain stakeholders can use eModal to share data and connect with one another, providing complete visibility to all from a central portal.

The core functionality of the new eModal Community Portal has also been deployed as an enterprise solution at the Port of New York and New Jersey earlier this year. The Terminal Information Portal System (TIPS) allows New York and New Jersey trucking companies a consolidated view to terminal information within the NYNJ port complex.
