The Bancorp Releases First Finetics Studio Interview Series: “The Energy of Money20/20: Payments in 2016 and Beyond”

Exclusive Interviews Feature Robert Carr, Cherian Abraham, Anil Aggarwal and Marilyn Bochicchio

WILMINGTON, Del.--()--The Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ:TBBK), The Official Bank of Money20/20, today announces the release of its first Finetics™ Studio interview series: “The Energy of Money20/20: Payments in 2016 and Beyond” featuring Robert Carr, Founder, Chairman and CEO, Heartland Payment Systems, Cherian Abraham, Mobile Payments & Commerce Lead, Experian Plc.; Anil Aggarwal, Founder and Chairman, Money20/20 and Marilyn Bochicchio, CEO and Founder, Hidden Brain.

Filmed from the Money20/20 show floor, Las Vegas, October 26-28, 2015, the exclusive interviews feature candid conversations about the future of the payments industry including predictions, warnings and advice for entrepreneurs.

“Nothing in payments is revolutionary,” said Marilyn Bochicchio, during her Finetics™ Studio interview. “Payments is a very big ship and it takes time to turn it around. There are many players and a lot of regulatory considerations and interactions with [stakeholders] in the value chain. So, we are still going to be talking about some of these things in 20 years, but it has begun and there’s no doubt the payments environment going forward will not resemble what we’ve known today or five years ago.”

“I think a lot of segments are getting more venture capital than is really needed,” said Robert Carr when asked if any innovations are being overhyped. “Different entrepreneurs are going to find different ways to attack the market and who knows who is going to be successful. Let’s see what happens with some of these companies that have really great ideas, but can they be used in a way that is financially viable for the long-term.”

The release of these first four videos signals the launch of the new Finetics™ Studio video series, which features one-on-one conversations with more than 30 of the financial services industry’s most influential and innovative executives. The interviews, conducted by Sarah Gill, senior reporter with PaymentEye, cover topics ranging from the future of payments innovation to financial inclusion and the customer experience to fraud and regulation and will be released on The Bancorp’s fineticsblog.com throughout early 2016.
