LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--D.A. Davidson & Co., an employee-owned full-service investment firm, has hired Jim Layden as a regional manager for the firm’s Individual Investor Group. He oversees the firm’s southern region, comprised of the 12 Crowell, Weedon & Co. branches in California.

Layden is responsible for working alongside Crowell in leading Crowell Weedon initiatives, including regional recruiting. Additionally, he serves as an advocate for the branches and a liaison between branch managers and company leadership.
Layden is based in the Los Angeles office of Crowell Weedon, which in 2013 merged with D.A. Davidson. He reports to Crowell and to Michael Purpura, President of D.A. Davidson’s Individual Investor Group. Crowell continues in his roles both as President of the Crowell Weedon division and a member of the D.A. Davidson Companies board of directors.
Layden previously was a managing director and regional executive for Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management in Los Angeles. He held earlier positions with UBS as a market area manager, regional director for UBS’ Southwestern Region, and regional director for UBS’ Great Lakes Region. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in New York.
