SC Investment Management Granted Singapore Capital Markets Services License

SINGAPORE--()--SC Investment Management Pte Ltd, an affiliate of SC Capital Partners, a real estate private equity platform that invests across the Asia-Pacific region, has been awarded a Capital Markets Services licence by the Monetary Authority of Singapore to provide fund management services in Singapore. The licence was approved on November 12 2015.

With the new licence, SC Investment Management Pte Ltd will be able to conduct a full range of fund management activities to institutional and accredited investors, including investment management, research, portfolio management, marketing and offer collective investment schemes.

The coveted licence will ultimately help to bolster and ratify the company’s existing fund management business in Singapore, especially as management seeks to attain higher standards in corporate governance.

“We are honoured to be awarded this licence which is much sought after in Singapore,” said Vidula Verma, General Counsel of SC Capital Partners. “It validates and reflects our efforts to aim for higher governance, compliance and best practices standards, so that our investors are always assured that their investments are in safe hands.”

About SC Capital Partners

SC Capital Partners (SCCP) and its affiliates are managers of the Real Estate Capital Asia Partners (RECAP) series of Pan Asian opportunistic real estate funds as well as a newly launched open-ended core plus fund. The funds have an 11-year track record across the Asia-Pacific, and have raised approximately $1.8 billion in equity commitments from a diverse pool of institutional investors. With over 30 people across six locations, SC Capital Partners’ competitive advantage stems from being firmly embedded in local knowledge, cultures and jurisdictions, giving the firm the resources and networks necessary to execute successfully in the region.

The opportunistic funds are focused on value creation through refurbishing, repositioning and operating real estate assets that are under-managed or from distressed sellers, in areas where market inefficiencies and strong macroeconomic fundamentals yield attractive opportunities. RECAP’s investments are concentrated on physical assets such as residential, office, retail, warehouses and hotel properties. The firm invests across Asia, including (but not limited to) Japan, Greater China (mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand.

The core plus fund will focus on stabilized income-producing assets such as office, retail, residential, logistics and other similar assets. The fund will invest primarily in the developed markets of Asia such as Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and South Korea.
