LAKEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FirstBank, Colorado’s largest locally owned bank and second largest bank by deposits in the state, announced the winner of the first-ever Elevator Pitch Business Contest is Fox Hollow Animal Hospital in Lakewood, Colo. Fox Hollow will receive $20,000 to support plans to expand and purchase new equipment.
Fox Hollow Animal Hospital submitted a 90-second music video that detailed how the family-owned clinic would invest the prize money back into the equipment and space used to care and treat for animals.
“Colorado is home to a passionate small business community, and we were thrilled by the number of entrants and voters who participated in this inaugural Elevator Pitch Business Contest,” said John Ikard, President and CEO of FirstBank Holding Company. “We are proud to work with so many business owners across the state and are glad to have highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit of Colorado while being able to reward one company with $20,000 through this contest. Congratulations to Fox Hollow Animal Hospital.”
More than 500 businesses across the state entered the inaugural FirstBank Elevator Pitch Contest. The pool was narrowed to five by a committee of expert judges including Jack Tankersly, managing director of Meritage Funds; Tom Clark, CEO of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation; Tami Door, CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership; and Dana Coffield, business editor for the Denver Post. The public was then asked to vote for the winner via the FirstBank Facebook page.
