Rover.com Partners Up to Support Therapy Dogs this Holiday Season

Rover pledges up to one million dollars to nationwide non-profit, Pet Partners

SEATTLE--()--Rover.com, the nation's largest network of dog sitters and dog walkers, today announced that for everyone who books a stay over the holidays, Rover and its Sit a Dog, Save a Life program will donate $1 to Pet Partners—up to one million dollars.

“Rover exists so that everyone can experience the joy of having a dog in their life, and Pet Partners’ therapy animals make more than a million visits to people in need each year,” said Brent Turner, Rover’s chief operating officer. “By supporting Pet Partners this holiday season, our community of dog lovers will help therapy animals nationwide get one step closer to improving the lives of their human companions.”

Pet Partners trains and educates owners of therapy animals, connecting thousands of companion dogs and their handlers with programs in hospitals, veterans’ centers and schools nationwide. Donations to Pet Partners apply to all Rover services of two days or more that take place between Nov. 26 and Dec. 31, 2015.

“The human-animal bond is an amazing, dynamic relationship that positively influences the health and well-being of both the people and the animals,” said Annie Magnant, Pet Partners President and CEO. “We’re incredibly thankful that Rover and their community of pet lovers are supporting our mission this holiday season.”

Rover’s Sit a Dog, Save a Life program helps sitters raise money for dogs in need by donating a portion of their earnings to a nonprofit organization that helps dogs in their community. To learn more about Sit a Dog, Save a Life and Rover’s holiday donation to Pet Partners, visit the Rover blog.
