Everything But The House Announces New Hire to Lead Business Development and Strategic Partnerships

Ben Luban, Former Global Head of Business Development for GrubHub Inc., Joins Executive Team to Support Ongoing Development of Sales Strategy

CINCINNATI--()--Everything But The House (EBTH), the global estate sale marketplace, today announced the addition of Ben Luban to the company’s executive team as Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships. EBTH brings the thrill of discovering unique finds at estate sales to buyers, while helping sellers manage the entire process from photography and cataloging to payment and delivery. Luban will play a crucial role in the expansion and refinement of EBTH’s overall sales strategy and vision for growth.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Ben Luban to the EBTH executive team during this exciting period of growth for the company,” said Jon Nielsen, Chief Revenue Officer of EBTH. “Ben brings a wealth of knowledge in business development through his experience creating and implementing innovative, high-impact customer acquisition programs, as well as managing strategic relationships and partnerships. His expertise will make him a fundamental part of further growing our business.”

Prior to joining EBTH, Luban served as the Global Head of Business Development for GrubHub Inc., where he was responsible for developing and implementing corporate strategy as well as sourcing, negotiating, executing and managing a diverse range of strategic relationships. He also ran business development for AOL’s Advertising business unit and was responsible for structuring monetization partnerships across the company’s portfolio of advertising offerings. Additionally, Luban was an early employee at Google, where he was involved in sales strategy development, operational initiatives and M&A integration activities.

“Everything But The House is such a dynamic marketplace that has an impressive group of passionate people behind it,” said Ben Luban, Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships of EBTH. “I’m eager to work with highly talented people that are on the cusp of establishing a global brand for online estate sales.”

As part of today’s announcement, EBTH is also welcoming three additional new hires to the team:

  • Michelle Lee, Vice President of Merchandising, will be responsible for enhancing the EBTH shopping experience through the creation of merchandising tools and curated landing pages.
  • Kat Ubungen, Vice President of Lifecycle Marketing, will manage end-to-end lifecycle marketing and retention efforts.
  • Olivia Pollock, Director of Social Media, will lead the development of EBTH’s global social media and content strategy.

Earlier this year EBTH announced a $30 million Series B investment round led by Greenspring Associates, with participation from existing investors Greycroft Partners and Spark Capital. The funding will provide the company with resources to further expand into additional U.S. markets, continue to grow the executive team, and optimize the EBTH user experience.

About Everything But The House

Everything But The House (EBTH) brings the thrill of estate sale shopping online. Through a global marketplace and community of buyers and sellers, EBTH has transformed the traditional estate sale model while preserving its fundamental charm: the excitement of discovering something special. Whether clients are looking to sell a collection due to downsizing, relocation, or managing a family member’s estate, EBTH’s full service model – photography, cataloging, payment and delivery – makes the process easy (and worthwhile: proceeds are typically 3-5 times higher than a conventional estate sale). For buyers, the reach of an e-commerce platform and the starting bid of $1 for all items means they can access an impressive range of collectibles – from a purse to a Picasso – from anywhere in the world.
