Moxtra Providing Technology and Mentorship to High School Students Learning How to Build and Use Collaboration Tools

CUPERTINO, Calif.--()--Moxtra, a leader in mobile-first embeddable collaboration services, today announced that it is the exclusive collaboration sponsor of Hacktoberfest, a hackathon created by Hacker Fund to instill a love of computer science to Los Angeles high school students. As part of its sponsorship, Moxtra is providing the students with access to its signature PowerMessenger™ cloud collaboration service, as well as its APIs and SDKs, and is providing live mentorship to participants.

Approximately 300 high school students are expected to attend the Hacktoberfest event, which is slated for October 24-25 at the U.S. Bank Tower in downtown Los Angeles. Hundreds of other students will virtually take part in the hackathon via Moxtra’s online collaboration tool. Throughout the entire month of October, Hacker Fund has been hosting dozens of computer science-related events for the youth community, drawing mentors from local colleges and companies to help teach kids to code.

“Moxtra is a strong advocate of the next generation of computer scientists who will provide the intellectual firepower for the apps of the future,” said Subrah Iyar, co-founder and CEO of Moxtra. “Sponsoring Hacktoberfest is a great way for us to demonstrate our commitment to education while strengthening the bonds within the app development ecosystem.”

“Our mission is to inspire young people to develop a love for computer science, while making learning fun,” said Justin Brezhnev of Hacker Fund. “Moxtra is the ideal collaboration tool for Hacktoberfest, because it’s very powerful but still easy to use for people of all ages. We’re proud of our wide-ranging relationship with Moxtra, and are very happy to announce their sponsorship of Hacktoberfest and our ongoing partnership.”
