HomeServe to Offer Emergency Repair Service Plans to Kentucky Power Customers

NORWALK, Conn.--()--HomeServe USA (HomeServe), a leading provider of home repair solutions, announced the expansion of its agreement with American Electric Power (AEP) to include customers in AEP’s operating unit, Kentucky Power. The new program will begin with an offer for the Exterior Electric Line service plan to Kentucky Power residential customers.

The Exterior Electric Line service plans offered through HomeServe provide homeowners protection against the expense and inconvenience of repairs to a home’s exterior electrical components that connect to the Kentucky Power electric system. This can include repairs to the weatherhead, riser pipe, insulators, meter base and service entrance cable. These repairs can be costly and are not typically covered by basic homeowners insurance. HomeServe plan holders will have access to a Repair Hotline that is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to bring local, licensed and insured electricians to their home for repairs. The plan costs $4.99 a month.

HomeServe is already an established provider in Kentucky, serving 88,000 homeowners holding 157,000 service plans. Kentucky Power homeowners also will have access to other HomeServe service plans, including interior electrical lines, heating and cooling systems, and water heater repairs. Customers will be able to conveniently pay for these HomeServe service plans directly on their Kentucky Power utility bill.

“We are pleased to be able to introduce these optional plans to Kentucky Power customers,” said Tom Rusin, CEO of HomeServe USA. “It’s important for homeowners to know that if they have an electrical or other repair emergency, they have an available service to turn to. Our plans not only provide timely repairs homeowners need, but also they help relieve the financial burden.”

Kentucky Power customers will be receiving details about the new program in the mail over the coming weeks. For more information, contact HomeServe toll-free at 1-844-877-2868 or visit www.HomeServeUSA.com.
