SAIC Awarded $70 Million FAA Office of Aviation Safety Contract

Company to provide professional services support

MCLEAN, Va.--()--Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) was awarded a prime contract by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to continue to provide a variety of professional services support to the Office of Aviation Safety.

The single-award, time and materials, and firm-fixed-price contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total contract value of more than $70 million. Work will be performed primarily in Washington, D.C.

The FAA Office of Aviation Safety is responsible for the certification, production approval, and continued airworthiness of aircraft; and certification of pilots, mechanics, and others in safety-related positions. Under the contract, SAIC will provide professional services, including program management and technical expertise in aviation, technical engineering, flight safety and safety management systems, federal rulemaking, aeronautical communications activities, aviation weather programs, and analytical and operations research. SAIC will help develop, review, and implement operational procedures and regulatory and safety policies for air traffic services for NextGen-enabled operational improvements in our nation’s airspace.
